What It Will Be Like

Wondering what it will be like when Iā€™m old and gray.
Will all of this change?
Will all of this fall out of style?
Will life bring more worries and more stress?

Wondering what it will be like when my body softens, but my mind hardens.
Will you still excite me like you did when we were younger?
Will our conversations still be filled with dreams and hope and happiness?
Will we share the same desires we shared while falling in love?

Wondering what it will be like when I begin to question everything.
Will I feel secure in my relationship with you?
Will I trust myself to accept the mistakes I made?
Will I believe you when you say you regret nothing?

Wondering what it will be like when we both sit back and reflect.
Will the evenings bring laughter or blank stares?
Will we ponder how our lives could have been different?
Will you ponder how your life could have been better?
