53 Hours

53 hours to introduced me to your life
53 hours to be impressed by your values
53 hours to be moved by your honesty
53 hours to be hypnotized by your smile
53 hours during which time everything went right

53 hours to share in your heartache
53 hours to watch you fight through your pain
53 hours to see the emotions wear on your sleeve
53 hours to hear how you fight off life’s heavy burdens
53 hours during which time everything went right

53 hours for my initial gaze to turn into something far, far more
53 hours for your melodic laugh to find a permanent spot in my restless soul
53 hours to realize you can have a conversation about anything
53 hours to see how energetic, fun, caring, relatable, beautiful, and kind you are
53 hours during which time everything went right

53 hours to remember again what it feels like to dream
53 hours for me to abandon the need to protect myself first
53 hours to want something; to want something so badly
53 hours and I think I may have fallen in love
53 hours during which time everything went right
53 hours but now it’s time to say goodbye
53 hours and, wow, how I will miss you
53 hours spent with you that I’ll remember forever
53 hours during which time everything went right
But only 53 seconds for me to know that I wanted this to be real.

Feelings that failed to exist at one moment can erupt in such a short period of time.
