Now What?

In a single instance, you’ve helped me to see
With you close by, I’m who I want to be
When you’re near it, all seems so simple
With you right here, it’s never felt so good

Now what? I’ve got no answers
Now what? I don’t know what to do
The only thing I know right now
Is how much I like you

I feel so dizzy, questions swirl my mind
I try to reason, but I’m lost in these thoughts
Someone so special, a heart so big
Feelings so real they’re beyond my control

Now what? There’s no one to talk to
Now what? I’m so sad and alone
I know what I feel and what I feel is real
But what I should do remains unknown

What I’ve worked for, it could all slip away
But what I’ve waited for could leave with you today
I have feelings on two fronts, both so new to me
I’ve got these thoughts, and they’re overwhelming me

Now what? I can’t think straight
Now what? My vision is impaired
What I know is my heart is running wild
And I’ve got these feelings that I can’t share

I must attempt to keep my distance here
And separate what’s right from wrong
But the very reasons that brought us together
Are the same that keep us apart

Now what? My heart won’t reason
Now what? I can’t look away
When I’m standing near, logic tells me to leave
But I listen less and instead choose to stay

This poem is fairly easy to understand. It's about falling in love with somebody that you shouldn't be falling in love with. Adapt it to whatever situation you would like to adapt it to. Here the speaker's mind and heart are telling him two different things. His mind tells him to do the practical thing, but his heart is saying something completely different. The speaker is torn and believes that there is nobody to talk to about the situation because he is sure they will tell him to do the smart thing and check his heart at the door. So rather than seeking the advice of another, he needs to decide on his own which path to follow. Ultimately, we see the choice it makes in the end.
