The Bridge

Can we please get it back? It’s what I so want
Can we rekindle this love that was oh such a dream?

Today we argue about matters much less
It was those same differences that brought us so close

This hurt misconstrued though it hurts all the same
Unplanned and unwanted, let’s rid us of this pain

Start fresh on the foundation which we already laid
A new layer of love, even stronger than before

Break down these barriers which divide our two beings
Open windows in our minds and gates to our hearts

Our misunderstandings will not preclude what we’ve missed
Communication will bridge our perceptions into a vision less blurred

These dense clouds of doubt will clear
The sun shall once again shine through

Break out these moments of hurt, reset our rhythm to one
Last long this sweet flavor of life, a life full of love

About forgiveness. It's about being hurt really, really badly by someone who didn't mean to hurt you at all and deciding if you're willing to forget about this unintentional hurt and move on in your life with this person, remembering the good or forever being full of wounded pride and not able to get past it.
